Cult Gaia's Menswear Debut: A Fusion of Heritage and Modernity
Cult Gaia, the fashion brand known for its unique and innovative designs, made history with its Fall 2026 collection, marking the first time the brand ventured into menswear. This bold move showcased the brand's versatility and designer Jasmin Larian Hekmat's exceptional talent.
In an exclusive interview before the show, Larian Hekmat revealed her vision for the men's line, emphasizing her signature tailored suiting and the incorporation of her cultural heritage. She stated, 'We did a lot of tailored suiting, and I infused some of our brand's iconic elements, like the calla lily, into the men's collection. I wanted to showcase our expertise in a new light.'
The collection draws inspiration from Larian Hekmat's Iranian heritage, reflecting the beauty rituals of the women in her family. She explains, 'This collection is deeply personal to me. It's a tribute to my roots, and I wanted to incorporate elements that symbolize the elegance and ceremony of dressing up.' The result is a stunning array of pieces, including a copper-patina fabric resembling tile, hand-painted with intricate beading.
While the men's collection maintained a simpler aesthetic compared to the women's line, it still featured some statement pieces that caught the eye. One standout item was an embroidered suit jacket adorned with floral embellishments, adding a touch of whimsy to the collection. Another notable piece was a shaggy chocolate brown fur coat, a bold and unconventional choice.
Larian Hekmat believes that the menswear collection will resonate with both men and women. She states, 'We aimed to offer something special in terms of fabric choices and detailing. It was a challenge to strike a balance between simplicity and intentional design. Men often seek our clothing, and I envision women embracing the men's collection as well, as evidenced by their presence on the runway.'
Cult Gaia's Fall 2026 collection, including its menswear debut, is a testament to the brand's ability to blend cultural heritage with modern fashion, creating a unique and captivating experience for its audience.
