Possible exposure sites include Giant Food in Lorton, Inova-GoHealth Urgent Care, and Inova HealthPlex Lorton Emergency Room, with specific dates and times provided.
And this is the part most people miss... there have been several other measles cases in Virginia this year, with some patients also spending time in D.C., potentially exposing others there as well.
While the most recent case involved an adult, most of the earlier cases have been in children aged four and under. Almost all patients are from Northern Virginia, with only one case involving a resident of Central Virginia.
If you think you may have been exposed, the health department has a survey for you to fill out. Health officials will then reach out with any necessary steps.
According to health officials, you're considered protected against measles if you've had two doses of the vaccine or were born before 1957. If you're unsure about your vaccine status, you can check with a healthcare provider or an online portal if you're from Virginia.

Symptoms can appear up to 21 days after exposure, so it's important to be vigilant. In this case, the likely timeframe for illness is between February 18 and March.
If you've been exposed and start showing symptoms, such as a rash, runny nose, watery eyes, cough, and fever over 101 degrees, stay home and contact a healthcare provider. The rash, a telltale sign of measles, usually appears three to five days after the initial symptoms.
