In an interview on the program "Dunya Meher Bokhari Kay Sath," Senator Vawda dropped this bombshell, suggesting that a trial against Imran Khan could even take place in military courts. He emphasized the gravity of the situation, stating that treason against the country, its institutions, and democracy carries severe penalties, including imprisonment or even the death penalty.

When asked about Faiz Hameed's role in the May 9 incidents, Vawda revealed that Hameed was the corps commander during the first "test trial," known as the "mini sit-in." He claims that Hameed facilitated access to internal installations, and during the subsequent sit-in, journalist Arshad Sharif was murdered, with General Bajwa as Army Chief and Hameed present in uniform.
Vawda emphasized the distinction between punishments for those in uniform and those without, suggesting that Hameed's sentence will not be reduced. However, he believes Hameed will provide testimony and evidence in the ongoing trial.
"Legally, worldly, and humanly, I see no path of return," Vawda stated, adding, "This is written on the wall." He predicts that after Hameed's testimony, the PTI and Imran Khan could be the next targets.
